Chandigarh 19th June 2025 (Punjabi Teshan) Renowned poet and Sufi singer Dr. Satinder Sartaaj brought a rare, introspective side of his persona to light in his recent poetry gathering titled ‘Tabsara’. More than just a poetic presentation, this mehfil (evening gathering) unfolded as a journey of inner reflection, offering audiences a glimpse of the artist beyond his widely known songs and screen appearances.
Sartaaj opened the evening with thought-provoking lines:
“Chalo tabsara kariye dil vich jo vi aa,
Is vich rose vi ne, is vich moh vi aa…”
These verses resonated deeply, peeling back emotional layers and inviting listeners to connect with their own truths. For Sartaaj, poetry isn’t just about popularity — it’s about people, truth, and sincerity. Whether he’s addressing a large audience or an intimate circle of thoughtful listeners, it’s the authentic connection that brings him peace.
“Acceptance is the Power” — A Glimpse into His Philosophy
The poet reflected on the power of acceptance in life.
“If I ever get a tattoo, it would say — Acceptance is the power.”
This isn’t just a quote for him — it’s a lived reality. His approach to art is rooted in humility, dedication, and openness to criticism. In a world that often resists feedback, Sartaaj’s willingness to accept, learn, and grow is what sets him apart.
Decoding Life’s Complexity with Simplicity
Through every couplet, Sartaaj delved into the layered complexities of life:
“Sapna yeh aaya ke neend aa nahi rahi…” “Chalo makhotay vi chaahide hunde ne…” “Main nu manfi karna kehda saukha ae, jiunde jee hi marna kehda saukha ae…”
