Mohali : 31st August, 2022(Punjabi Teshan)Punjabi icon Harjeet, known for her songs and videos for dance and ‘bolis’ and popular on social media sites, is doing a folkloric job by keeping the art scene changing in the UK. In front of the people, Harjit Kaur went from her home in Punjab to the UK. Harjeet Kaur at the age of 16 when she was studying in high school, she wanted to participate in singing and dancing competitions as she also had a passion for it.

However, her parents did not allow her to participate in these competitions. Seeing her persistence, her teacher invited ‘Meeto’ to attend music classes. She was later selected for a competition in which she was asked to recite a poem on Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. However, she got an idea while listening to the radio and decided to recite the poem as a song and won the first prize for it.
Harjit Kaur started participating in cultural activities during her higher education and even went to Chandigarh for several competitions. However, she got married and moved to the UK where she was told to be a little reserved in front of her in-laws. One day Harjit Kaur was going to a family function when her mother-in-law asked her to dance and do ‘bolis’. She immediately stood up and started dancing. Harjeet Kaur plays ‘Nee Mein Sass Kutni Boli’ and soon when she realizes that her mother-in-law is in front of her, she apologizes to her, which not only forgives Meeto, but also praises her.
As she was fond of music and dance, she started performing at events and even people started inviting her to dance and perform ‘bolis’. Meanwhile, someone advised her not to do so and instead charged her for her performance. Harjit Kaur then started doing the same. Similarly, she started making videos on TikTok and gained a lot of popularity for it. And that’s how she made her mark and has been popularizing folk art in the UK ever since. Later, she met Harjinder Kaur aka Preeto who was also a TikTok star. They were both fond of each other’s videos and started making videos together. People loved the combo of ‘Meeto’ and ‘Preeto’ and thus they started ruling hearts together.
