Interior Designer Wasim Khan is a Spatial Design Graduate from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and a Director at Lemon Design – an award winning Strategic Branding and Integrated Design Consultancy. Wasim Khan involved in ‘Dandi Kutir’ museum inaugurated by Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi recently. Dandi Kutir is a museum on the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi in Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar. He has been a core member of design teams for monumental projects like the Khalsa Heritage Museum & Ahmedabad City Museum.
The Fashion Design workshop by Karishma Shahani to make Fashion Design students understand the limitation and benefits of using the available materials like found objects, textiles, recycled and up cycled material within a fixed time span and be able to work with it. As Karishma’s successful Label has an aim to create vertically accessible platforms for the promotion of craft: hand-crafted, hand-dyed, hand-made sent with Love from India, she would be sharing an idea of using alternate and recycled material to create awareness of potential possibilities of mixing alternate with traditional material. Eminent Designer share the strong focus on understanding the inspiration, applying it, realising it through garment style, it’s surface development and conversation there after.
The exclusive design workshop by Wasim Khan is to make the Interior Design students understand the basic guiding principles of Interior Design relating to the planning & function of the space and exploring the suitability for the people who will use it. The students would be taught to create a well-planned interior that feels balanced, harmonious and where spaces flow effortlessly into one another as the designer needs some knowledge of proportioning systems and grasp of the idea of scale.

Her brand aims to help increase fair trade and benefit artisans at the grass root level for their revival and longevity. It is a label for modern India so obsessed with its past but treading on to create its own history for the future. Her collections are an eclectic mix of basic materials with high embellishments or vice versa which fit in harmony despite their contrasting natures. Her label works with natural fabrics, traditional methods of dyeing, hand illustrations and a multitude of Indian crafts aiming to crate heirlooms hinged on modern functionality. Her work focuses on sustainability and craft delving on ideas of promotion of an entire body of handcraft from weaver to tailor.
Interior Designer Wasim Khan believes in exploring new dimensions of design, new articulations of the philosophy and new parameters of practice across the world. He takes workshops & lectures at various institutions including MIT Institute of Design, Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), NIFT, School of Fashion Technology (SOFT), IIPM and many more. His art direction was appreciated worldwide in the film ‘Dansh’, which was nominated for numerous international festivals including the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the Bangkok International Film Festival & the OSIAN Cinefan Film Festival. Wasim Khan, Director at Lemon Design, has revamped package of the new Park Avenue Deodrants TVC. Lemon Design have been able to light up a number of houses in Ladakh and hoping to light up many many more. They were recently covered on ‘The Hindu’ News daily for winning the CII NID Design Excellence Award for the Overall Industrial Design Category and also the “Computer & Electronics” sub category. Over the last 14 years, 120 global clients, he has created & designed retail brands like PATANG Retail, FRESH@, GOOD Homestore, Asterix Hotel, the Delhi Bazaar at T3 at the Delhi International Airport; HOE Spa at the T2 of Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, PORTICO’s, FAASOS, MASALA BOX, EATSOME, DESIANN, FAMILY CARE, MY DENTIST, CARPLUS, among various other brands. He has also conceptualized and executed 2 travelling exhibitions for RBI and numerous exhibitions at AutoExpo, Defence Expo etc.
Designers Karishma and Wasim shared their talent and experience with the students of INIFD. Students were greatly enriched to have an opportunity to interact with the bright talents of the industry.
